For the past three years my daughter Sarah has visited me here in Florida on my birthday. It has almost become a tradition and has made that day extra special. I know that as life changes, she may not be able to keep this tradition going. But for now, it's something I look forward to.
This year Sarah brought her friend Andy Sturgis. We were very glad to finally meet Andy and have him stay with us.
We always paddle when Sarah comes, so Andy, a kayaking neophyte, had to man-up and give it a try! He was a little tentative at first, but before long he was paddling like a veteran. We paddled on the St. Sebastian River where we encountered a friendly manatee. This is a short video about that adventure.
